We are looking for an experienced and motivated Senior Accounts Professional to join our finance team and play a key role in supporting the financial management of the business.
The Role
Reporting to the Director, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day finance function while ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance, and efficient financial operations. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports.
- Oversee sales and purchase ledgers, credit control, and payroll.
- Manage cash flow, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Reconcile bank accounts and balance sheet accounts.
- Prepare VAT returns and ensure compliance with HMRC requirements.
- Support year-end accounts and liaise with external accountants and auditors.
- Monitor stock valuation and manufacturing costs.
- Analyse financial performance and provide recommendations to improve profitability.
- Develop and improve financial processes and internal controls.
- Support senior management with financial planning and strategic decision-making.
About You
The successful candidate will have:
- Significant experience in a senior accounts or finance role.
- Experience working within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of management accounting, budgeting, and financial reporting.
- Experience with accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- The ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
Qualifications needed
- AAT qualified, ACCA, CIMA, ACA, or qualified by experience.
- Experience with ERP or manufacturing accounting systems.
- Knowledge of stock control and cost accounting.
