The predicted salary is between 16.2 - 19.8 £ per hour.
We are currently recruiting experienced Class 1 HGV Drivers for ongoing general haulage work. The role will involve driving curtain-side vehicles, completing deliveries and collections to a range of customers across the UK. This is a varied driving role suited to professional drivers who are confident with general haulage and securing loads correctly.
Duties will include:
- Driving Class 1 / C+E vehicles
- General haulage deliveries and collections
- Operating curtain-side trailers
- Opening and closing curtains safely
- Securing loads using straps, ratchets and appropriate restraints
- Completing vehicle checks and reporting any defects
- Completing delivery paperwork accurately
- Maintaining regular communication with the transport team
- Providing a professional service when dealing with customers
- Complying with drivers’ hours, Working Time Directive and road transport regulations
Requirements:
- Full UK Class 1 / Category C+E licence
- Valid CPC
- Valid Digital Tachograph Card
- Previous Class 1 driving experience preferred
- Curtain-side / general haulage experience desirable
- Good knowledge of load security
- Reliable, professional and punctual
- Good communication skills
