Personal Assistant required
The position offers 11 hours per week, with a maximum of 80 miles of travel, at a rate of ÂŁ45 per week.
Regular visits and times will be agreed with the individual.
The role includes supporting the individual with social activities, life skills, leisure opportunities, and transportation to the community. The individual enjoys coffee or meals out before or after grocery shopping and is interested in building community relationships.
The individual’s first language is English; additionally, they speak German, French and Dutch.
The property includes a parrot and a dog.
Primary duties and responsibilities
- Supporting the employer with encouragement in gaining independence
- Enabling the employer to interact socially in their community
- Providing support to the employer whilst shopping and attending activities of interest
- Supporting the employer to develop independent living skills
- Providing companionship in the employer’s home, including engaging in conversation with the employer and providing them with social interaction
- Encouraging the employer to attend appointments
- Ensuring the employer’s safety at all times during your working hours
- To carry out any other reasonable tasks that are requested by the employer during your working hours
- Ensuring compliance with the Data Protection Act
- Being mindful of safeguarding issues, and reporting any concerns to Carmarthenshire County Council immediately at 01267 228751
- Being responsible for contacting the GP, Social Worker or Local Authority should the employer need medical assistance

- Ability to develop supportive and caring relationship with employer
- To undertake all duties in a friendly and helpful manner
- Ability to contact people on behalf of the employer when necessary
Job Working Environment
Working primarily in the employer’s homes and supporting them to access facilities and community activities.

- Able to develop long‑term supportive and consistent relationships with employers
- A full, clean driving licence and use of a car is likely to be required, depending on the employer’s needs and proximity to the workplace
- Prepared to have business use added to vehicle insurance to allow work‑related use of the vehicle
- Prepared to undergo training in order to best meet the employers’ needs
