The Role: Temporary Consultant in Emergency Medicine (12-Month Contract)
Location: Tipperary University Hospital, County Tipperary, Ireland
Start Date: Early January 2026. Due to imminent start, applicants with EU work Status or already approved Visa status in ROI are encouraged to apply.
Contract Type: Specified Purpose – 12 months
Salary: EST €233,527 – €280,513 per annum
About the Role: Tipperary University Hospital is seeking an experienced Consultant in Emergency Medicine to join the dynamic Emergency Department team. This is an exciting opportunity to provide high-quality emergency care in a busy acute hospital serving the Mid-West region.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver consultant-level care for all ED patients, including triage, diagnosis, and treatment.
- Provide clinical leadership and governance within the Emergency Department.
- Participate in departmental rotas and on-call duties.
- Foster a culture of mentorship and collaboration across multidisciplinary teams.
- Contribute to service development, audits, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Support teaching and training of junior doctors and ED staff.
Requirements:
- Registration with the Irish Medical Council (IMC) in Emergency Medicine.
- Minimum of 7 years postgraduate experience, including significant time in Emergency Medicine.
