Locum Consultant Ophthalmologist – Vitreoretinal Specialist at Royal Victoria Hospital, Belfast. This is a long-term locum opportunity for a Consultant Ophthalmologist with a specialist interest in Vitreoretinal Surgery.

This is an excellent opportunity to join one of Northern Ireland's leading tertiary ophthalmology centres, working within a highly specialised service managing a wide range of retinal and vitreoretinal conditions. The ophthalmology service at RVH provides specialist care across cataract, glaucoma, corneal disease, medical and surgical retina, neuro-ophthalmology, paediatric ophthalmology and ocular emergency services.

The Role

The successful candidate will be involved in the assessment and management of complex retinal conditions including:

  • Vitreoretinal surgery
  • Retinal detachments
  • Macular disorders
  • Diabetic retinopathy
  • Retinal vascular disease
  • Medical and surgical retina clinics
  • Multi-disciplinary retinal care pathways

Working within a busy tertiary referral centre, you'll collaborate with experienced ophthalmologists, specialist nurses, optometrists and allied healthcare professionals delivering high-quality patient care.
