The Role: We are looking for a strategic and commercially minded Director of Training & Development to lead the design and delivery of impactful training programs across 1-Experience Group. This role is central to our growth, driving revenue through client-focused training and empowering our internal teams with continuous learning and development.
What You’ll Do:
- Client-Focused Training: Develop and deliver commercial training programs in healthcare and other growth sectors. Collaborate with business development teams to identify market needs and create training offerings that generate revenue and strengthen client relationships. Ensure all external programs meet industry and regulatory standards.
- Commercial Development: Develop and grow a commercial training function with scalable training packages that can be commercially sold and delivered.
- Internal Learning & Development: Lead engaging L&D initiatives for internal staff, covering onboarding, compliance, and recruitment best practices. Promote a culture of continuous learning and career progression. Ensure company-wide training/skills needs analysis and yearly training plans are completed and executed. Develop and deliver systems training to all internal staff. Liaise with external funding bodies for training support/grants.
- Strategic Leadership: Build and execute a training strategy aligned with the 1-Experience mission and growth objectives. Integrate innovative learning technologies and methodologies to enhance delivery and engagement.
- Team Empowerment: Lead and mentor the training team, fostering creativity, collaboration, and high performance. Ensure consistent quality and scalability of training delivery across locations.
- Impact & Evaluation: Define and track KPIs to measure training effectiveness, employee performance, and client satisfaction. Present insights and recommendations to the executive team to inform strategic decisions.
Essential:
- Professional qualification in Strategic L&D (CIPD L7 or equivalent).
- Four years' experience in training & development, including two years at Head of or Director level.
- Experience designing and implementing a company-wide training/L&D strategy.
- Experience in design and delivery of training for global locations (outside UK/ROI).
Desirable:
- Experience in healthcare or recruitment preferred; commercial training experience is a strong advantage.
- Strong leadership, communication, and presentation skills.
- Skilled in designing and delivering both in-person and digital training programs.
- Commercially minded with a focus on client value and business growth.
