We\’re looking for a Risk Analyst to join our 2nd Line Risk function. Our Risk and Compliance teams focus on Upstream Risk, Regulatory Advice, Compliance Management Information, Privacy, and Data Protection, ensuring we stay ahead. With links across the business and responsibilities for regulatory, claims, and underwriting controls, this role offers opportunities to develop your skills in various specializations.
What you’ll do:
This role supports the Head of Business Risk by providing data-driven insights into operational risk, analyzing risk metrics, management information, and engaging with key stakeholders.
You will:
- Utilize the Group risk management system, Workiva, to analyze risk actions, events, controls, metrics, and management information for review by the Head of Area.
- Collaborate with the business to ensure risk information within Workiva is complete, accurate, and compliant with the Enterprise Risk Strategy & Framework (ERMF) and Risk Management Process Standards.
- Drive continuous improvements to key 2LoD risk documentation, including the Aggregated Risk Profile and 2LoD Opinion process.
- Review and challenge controls and actions to address any identified gaps.
- Engage with wider Risk teams to understand compliance, regulatory, or financial themes affecting risk profiles.
- Support the management of DLG’s Risk Appetite.
- Produce monthly risk reports for the Operational Risk Committee, including an overview of Risk Profile, Events, and Actions.
- Assist in preparing papers for governance forums.
- Conduct thematic and deep-dive risk reviews to ensure risks are well-articulated and rated, with appropriate actions.
- Collaborate with the Risk Framework team on activities and provide insights into enterprise risk processes.
- Advise on changes within risk appetite and promote a strong risk and control culture.
What you\’ll need:
- Experience or understanding of the insurance industry or similar financial services.
- Strong numeracy, analytical, and research skills.
- Excellent planning and organizational abilities.
- Awareness of risk, control, and growth balance.
- Self-motivated with problem-solving skills and the ability to generate ideas.
- Experience with thematic risk assurance assessments.
- Ability to communicate complex issues clearly.
- Experience with GRC systems is beneficial.
