This is a great role for someone who wants to be part of an evolving Commercial Claims function and contribute to meaningful transformation. As a Technical Claims Consultant within the Commercial Liability Direct team, you will manage a portfolio of liability claims of up to £100k and play a key role in delivering fair outcomes, technical excellence, and continuous improvement in claims handling.
What you'll be doing:
- Managing a portfolio of Public, Employee, Disease and Product Liability claims within delegated authority (up to £100k)
- Leading detailed investigations, instructing external experts, and confirming indemnity positions through robust policy analysis
- Working closely with solicitors and counsel on liability assessment, litigation strategy and policy interpretation
- Negotiating fair, timely and commercially appropriate settlements while balancing legal and customer outcomes
What you'll need:
- Proven experience handling complex commercial liability claims
- Strong technical knowledge of common law, liability principles and insurance legislation
- Excellent analytical, communication and negotiation skills, with confidence influencing senior stakeholders
