We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as an Employee Relations (ER) Case Consultant on a 6-7 month secondment or fixed term contract. In this role, you’ll be part of an empowered and strategic centre of expertise working closely with People Managers across DLG to provide expert guidance on a wide range of people-related matters. This secondment is a brilliant opportunity for someone who loves to roll their sleeves up and has a strong foundation in HR principles, good working knowledge of our internal policies, and the confidence to navigate complex cases with support from the ER team.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Provide timely and pragmatic advice to People Managers on the full range of ER issues - ensuring alignment with internal policies, legal requirements, and best practice.
  • Act as an ER subject matter expert on projects, working with the business and HR.
  • Provide effective case management support, handling varying levels of complexity with appropriate guidance.
  • Build trusted relationships with People Leaders through the delivery of consistent, timely, and high-quality advice.
  • Support the design and delivery of People Leader upskilling in all areas of ER.
  • Analyse ER data to identify recurring trends and themes to support continuous improvement aligned to strategic priorities.
  • Contribute to the development of people-related policies, ensuring compliance and best practice are considered using external insights and developments in employment legislation.
  • Ensure all documentation and case records meet required standards and governance expectations.
  • Embed risk management and compliance practices across all ER activities.
  • Maintain awareness of emerging employment law, HR trends, and best practice through internal and external networks.

What you’ll need:

  • Generalist understanding of HR principles and policies with the ability to apply them in a practical business context.
  • Experience supporting managers with HR or employee relations queries.
  • Awareness of key aspects of employment law impacting Employee Relations.
  • Strong stakeholder management with the ability to quickly build credibility and influence decision-making.
  • Ability to gather information, analyse, and problem-solve business needs, policy, legislation, and best practice into account.
  • Resilience, independence, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills capable of simplifying complex issues and offering pragmatic outcome-focused solutions.
