About the role
Our HGV drivers are kept busy in this role to get our customers back on the road quickly. You will work within a team of other drivers reporting to your Transport Controller. As a Class C Driver, you will collect and deliver vehicles before and after repair, working to deadlines to meet our customer\’s needs. All roles are at the heart of our Auto Services business and you\’ll need to be enthusiastic, upbeat and committed to delivering the best repair service.
Responsibilities
- Have responsibility for collecting and delivering cars within agreed timescales, ensuring the customer receives the best possible service on collection and delivery, ensuring all cash and credit card transactions are accounted for and processed following company procedures.
- Complete forms to indicate any damage on the car and specify accident‑related damage, highlight any old damage, take digital photographs and gain a signature from the customer.
- Highlight any defects identified during loading/unloading of vehicles or at handover to the customer and bring to the attention of the Production Manager.
- Ensure all jobs are referenced and filed on completion.
- Work safely and in accordance with Health and Safety and industry standards, complying with Audatex estimates, DLGAS ways of working and BS10125 procedures.
Qualifications & Experience
- Previous experience in a similar role.
- Experience driving HGV Class 2 vehicles and within recovery.
- Customer‑focused with great customer handling skills.
- Knowledge of the local area to our repair centre.
- Current valid driving licence that meets fleet insurance criteria and a Class \’C\’ LGV licence.
- Driver ‘Certificate of Professional Competence’ (CPC).
