What you'll be doing:
- Identify, investigate, and validate suspected insurance fraud cases, converting findings into measurable counter‑fraud benefit while effectively managing case portfolios within SLAs and process guidelines.
- Ensure all investigations comply with internal policies and external regulations (e.g., FCA, FOS, GDPR, ICO), maintaining high standards of governance and risk control.
- Manage customer expectations throughout investigations, providing clear updates on indemnity, liability, and outcomes.
- Apply expertise in fraud prevention and detection, handling outcomes such as cancellation, repudiation, settlement, litigation, or recovery, and referring linked or organised fraud cases to specialist teams.
- Control investigation costs by identifying risks and leakage, applying sound reserving practices, and escalating where appropriate.
- Use MI and tools to prioritise workload, liaise with external bodies (e.g., IFB, IFED, CIFAS), and collaborate with internal stakeholders to maximise fraud detection opportunities.
- Balance fraud prevention with fair customer treatment, resolve complaints effectively, and contribute to continuous improvement while upholding company values and culture.
Our hybrid model offers a ‘best of both worlds’ approach. When you’ll be in the office depends on your role and team, but colleagues spend at least 50% of their time in the office.
What you’ll need:
- Must have knowledge/experience of Personal Lines Motor Products claims
- Strong investigative skills
- Must have stakeholder engagement experience and excellent communication skills
- Effective management and prioritisation of workload, delivering within agreed time limits
- Understanding of pertinent UK legislation, specifically the Road Traffic Act 1988 and the Consumer Insurance (Disclosure and Representations) Act 2012, and understanding of application fraud and wider financial crime obligations, in particular anti-money laundering
