Join us as a Pricing Manager in our Motor Manufacturing Tribe. This role will sit in the Portfolio Analysis Team and will work collaboratively with teams across Motor Risk and Retail Pricing, as well as colleagues in Underwriting, Trading and Finance teams.
What you\’ll be doing:We\’ll utilise your skills where they are most needed whilst also giving you an opportunity to build and grow the breadth of your expertise. There will be scope to soak up new experiences and most importantly you\’ll positively influence and shape what we do – making an impact on our customers lives.
Your job responsibilities may include:
In depth analysis of large datasets utilising a combination of SQL, Python and Radar.
Maintaining model scoring processes so that business has access to our latest view of profitability measures.
Managing profitability analysis of our range of products and brands, including Direct Line, Churchill and Privilege. Informing the future strategic direction of the product suite.
Developing and owning the Portfolio Analysis exhibits: rate tracking, profitability, Actual vs Expected, model stability and uncertainty metrics.
Feeding into financial planning, reinsurance analysis and other ad hoc strategic pricing tasks.
Identifying opportunities to help the business evolve and enhance existing processes.
Day-to-day management of 1-2 analysts.
You\’ll report to a Band 5 Pricing Practitioner, and work alongside a team of experienced colleagues. Between us we hold a breadth of experience across the industry, but we\’re always open to new approaches.
Our hybrid model offers a \’best of both worlds\’ approach. When you\’ll be in the office depends on your role and team, but colleagues spend at least 2 days a week in the office.
What you\’ll need:
General insurance pricing experience, preferably in personal lines and across a broad range of functions.
Excellent problem-solving skills, with an ability to consider multiple scenarios, understand the needs and anticipate outcomes for the customers.
Familiarity with SQL, Radar and Python.
Strong stakeholder management, communication and presentation skills, with an ability to explain findings to both a technical and non- technical audience.
People management experience preferable, but not essential.
A numerate degree in Mathematics, Statistics or related subjects.
