Our Pricers and Underwriters are key to balancing business goals with customer needs, reducing risk, and predicting future events to ensure our business grows while providing the best prices for our consumers.
What you’ll be doing
Join us as a Motor Underwriter in our Motor Underwriting Team. We’re looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated team player to help grow our brands and strengthen our presence in the Motor Insurance market.
You’ll be involved immediately, gaining new experiences and positively influencing our operations, making a tangible impact on our customers’ lives. We’ll utilize your skills where they are most needed and provide opportunities to expand your expertise.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the management of our Core Motor product portfolio, reviewing performance, and identifying improvement opportunities.
- Proactively developing and implementing application fraud controls, identifying new rules and controls.
- Collaborating with our counter fraud teams to monitor fraud performance.
- Ensuring underwriting criteria support our financial targets and positive customer outcomes.
- Enacting and enhancing underwriting controls.
- Working with a multi-disciplinary trading team.
Work Model
Our hybrid model offers a flexible approach, with colleagues spending at least 2 days a week in the office, depending on the role and team. Locations include London, Bristol, Leeds, or Glasgow.
What you’ll need
- Experience developing motor underwriting proposals in personal lines insurance, ideally Motor.
- Experience with fraud controls at quote and post-sale stages.
- A proven track record of using underwriting expertise to make a positive impact.
- Ability to analyze data to inform decisions.
- Experience with data analysis tools; SQL experience is desirable.
- Understanding of relevant insurance regulations and legislation.
- Ability to innovate and work in a fast-paced environment across multiple initiatives.
