What you will be doing
- Co-manage DLG's internal Sterling corporate credit and government-related credit portfolios, ensuring investment objectives and financial targets are met within risk guidelines.
- Collaborate with the Front Office team on investment strategy, sharing market insights and providing back-up for cash and bond dealing.
- Support first-line investment risk management by contributing to risk forums, reviewing controls, and monitoring market risk data.
- Assist in stress testing and scenario analysis for investment portfolio strategy adjustments.
- Conduct ongoing credit analysis for liquid and illiquid assets, monitoring market trends and reporting on credit issuers.
- Maintain investment documentation, ensuring policies, controls, and compliance reporting are accurate and up to date.
- Act as DLG's subject matter expert on responsible investing, identifying global best practices and driving ESG-aligned initiatives.
- Prepare and present monthly portfolio reports and participate in quarterly performance reviews of external fund managers.
- Stay informed on financial and credit market developments, assessing potential impacts on DLG's investment portfolio.
- Evaluate new investment proposals from third parties and recommend next steps.
What we are looking for
- Experience in an investment manager or assistant investment manager role, with hands-on exposure to portfolio management.
- Understanding of fixed income markets, investment strategies, and risk management principles.
- Ability to instil confidence in senior leaders (CFO, CRO, Investment Committee) and build relationships with external asset managers.
- Up-to-date understanding of ESG strategies and responsible investment initiatives.
- Data analysis, interpretation, and spreadsheet skills, with a keen eye for detail.
- Ability to articulate complex investment strategies and insights to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- A proactive mindset with the confidence to lead investment decisions.
