As Finance Production and Control Senior Lead, you will work with and manage multiple stakeholders, including the management of an outsource provider to ensure the accurate processing of specific financial transactions within the agreed set of systems for your role and data definitions on a timely basis. You’ll also support the Head of Finance Operations and Change and Director of Finance Reporting and Control in delivering strong and robust financial management through management and oversight of the delivery legal entity financial results of end-to-end processes data framework and control framework – with specific accountability for those systems within your remit. This role is being offered on an 18-month Fixed-term contract basis.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead the ongoing development of the Shared Service production hub, managing the outsource provider and ensuring high performance in financial results production.
- Ensure regular review and adherence to minimum standards and best practices for results production and end-to-end processes.
- Oversee the completion of the monthly close timetable, managing financial professionals across onshore and offshore teams.
- Maintain effective financial controls through regular monitoring of reconciliations and related payment/receipt processes.
- Account for specific financial boundaries, manage the balance sheet, and ensure the accuracy of the financial results.
- Ensure accounting practices are up-to-date and in line with general and accepted standards.
- Manage staff performance, including reviews, training needs, and development plans, ensuring consistency across the department.
- Act as the Finance business owner for key systems like Oracle, FSH, FDP & EDMCS, ensuring alignment with Finance and Data strategic visions.
- Address complex issues promptly, using judgment to avoid large losses or reputational damage, and serve as an escalation point for process failures.
- Collaborate with the Finance Change team to ensure new projects meet DLG standards and drive continuous improvement across finance processes, focusing on cost-saving initiatives and optimization of technology.
Our hybrid model offers a 'best of both worlds' approach. When you’ll be in the office depends on your role and team, but colleagues spend at least 2 days a week in our London Riverbank House office.
What You’ll Need
- Qualified Accountant with leadership experience in finance operational teams, including offshore teams.
- Experience in the Insurance is essential, with adherence to a range of legal regulatory and risk management frameworks.
- You’ll have experience of insurance regulatory reporting, with knowledge of Solvency II and IFRS17.
- You’ll have experience in a financial control environment, with strong understanding of processes and systems.
- Experience in managing and working with suppliers to deliver shared accountabilities.
