We currently have an exciting new opportunity to join our Personal Injury Team as a Complex / Multi-track Litigator. This is a permanent and full-time position, based at our Bromley or Leeds office (hybrid working).
Responsibilities:
- Managing a client’s claim using the firm’s technical process, documenting activities, and ensuring accurate time recording.
- Conducting investigations into incident circumstances, legal research, and assessing claim prospects and value, consulting Counsel if necessary.
- Providing clients with correct legal advice, managing expectations, explaining processes clearly, and ensuring fair treatment.
- Negotiating settlements on behalf of clients and updating legal expenses providers at key stages.
- Drafting documents for court proceedings, complying with court directions, and preparing files for hearings.
- Instructing counsel, drafting briefs, and checking costs statements.
- Managing risks in line with policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintaining good relationships with team members, external organizations, and suppliers.
- Supporting departmental development through continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Experienced Claims handler, Legal Executive, or Solicitor.
- Previous personal injury claims handling experience in a law firm environment.
- Knowledge of Pre Action Protocol, CPR, Practice Directions, and relevant statutes.
- Experience with Case Management Systems and dealing with EL/OL/PL & RTA claims.
- Knowledge of general damages assessment guidelines and research resources.
- Effective communication skills via phone and written formats.
- Proven ability to meet targets, work under pressure, and manage time effectively.
