Manager of Outsourced Partnerships

Location: Any Direct Line Group Location – Hybrid working, 2 days per week in the office

Contract: Fixed Term – Up to 12 months

Green Flag is a roadside rescue and recovery service rooted in independence and efficiency. We work smart—bringing the best local technicians and independent garages across the UK together under one (green) flag. Our local specialists are highly skilled and dedicated to getting our customers back on the move quickly.

What you’ll do

Reporting to the Head of Outsourced Partnerships, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of designated suppliers within the Green Flag Patrol Network. Your role includes managing supplier performance, developing relationships, sourcing new suppliers, and negotiating commercial terms with procurement support.

  1. Manage the performance of designated suppliers and oversee contractual KPIs and customer outcomes.
  2. Identify and onboard new suppliers, conducting due diligence and engaging P&SC as needed.
  3. Monitor geographical performance and ensure compliance with contractual and performance standards.
  4. Analyze root cause analyses, interrogate data, and collaborate with data science to improve dashboards.
  5. Support supplier performance reviews and manage supplier relationships effectively.
  6. Handle supplier removals following governance procedures when necessary.
  7. Manage financial aspects, including budgets, revenue, and cash flow issues.
  8. Ensure compliance with competition law and internal policies, including PES checks, PAS43, and SCM audits.
  9. Communicate proactively with service providers and internal teams to align expectations and resolve issues.
  10. Address conflicts at senior levels, demonstrating emotional resilience and adaptable communication.
  11. Conduct supplier audits and support out-of-hours issues on a rota basis.
  12. Manage complaints and escalate trends to the relevant stakeholders.
  13. Coordinate with Patrols, Health & Safety teams, and the Green Flag Network to ensure best practices.
  14. Develop strategies for surge events to meet customer, brand, and business needs.
  15. Maximize roadside revenue opportunities and identify new revenue streams.

What you\’ll need

  • Experience in supplier and relationship management, including managing external suppliers and performance reviews.
  • Experience managing budgets, commercial spend, and revenue within a supplier network.
  • Ability to resolve escalations, conflicts, and make balanced decisions for customer and business needs.
  • Experience sourcing and onboarding suppliers, negotiating contracts with procurement teams.
  • A background in the automotive industry is advantageous but not essential.
  • Strong self-management, independence, and teamwork skills.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing abilities.
