We are looking for a Commercial Polaris Developer to join our Commercial Direct team on a 12 month fixed term basis.
This is a hybrid role with two working days a week from our Leeds or London office.
As a Polaris Developer, you will work as part of the business-led Development team being responsible for the development lifecycle, including internal systems, software house changes, scheduled releases, new products, product changes and faults.
You will be responsible for ensuring the quality of all system changes, reducing risk to the business and supporting Commercial to achieve strategic goals.
What you\’ll be doing as a Polaris Developer

Review and provide feedback on Business Requirement Documents, also providing development estimations based on these business requirements

Analyse business requirements to recommend the development approach, strategy and conditions

Take responsibility for the project/BAU planning for development, preparing development plans, managing and resolving conflicts with other development activities, and amending development plans throughout the life of the project/change

Ensure that development build specifications are executed following business priorities and progress recorded in line with governance requirements

Identify issues, to a level where the underlying issue is understood and recorded in line with governance requirements and resolution managed through to completion

Provide updates to stakeholders and management on current development projects and BAU activities, highlighting conflicts for review and resolution

Ensure that the integrity of the development environment and data is maintained

Ensure that all development requirements, specifications and any variances are documented correctly, in line with group governance, providing an audit path and a document library.
Skills & Qualities you\’ll need

Competent working knowledge of the host policy administration systems

Experience in using Polaris ProductWriter for Commercial products

Working knowledge of development and project methodologies

Experience in analysing insurance products

Understanding underwriting rules and complex pricing algorithms to a level where underlying requirements can be developed or configured to deliver the required solution
