What you’ll be doing

Working in an agile way means you’ll take charge early on, soak up new experiences and most importantly you’ll positively influence and shape what we do – making an impact on our customers' lives. We’ll utilise your skills where they are most needed whilst also giving you the opportunity to build and grow the breadth of your expertise.

Reporting into the Pricing & Underwriting Portfolio & Optimisation lead, key responsibilities will include:

  • Initially supporting on the migration of our existing products onto a new platform & a successful delivery of our new & updated product suite, data requirements & schema definitions working in a highly focused, cross-group environment.
  • Working in a fast-paced environment, you’ll oversee a successful migration & develop out future products in a new & exciting part of the group.
  • Work closely with the Head of Pricing & Underwriting & Pet pricing lead, and trading team to deliver underwriting strategy.
  • Portfolio management of the Pet Products.
  • Assessing Underwriting criteria, wordings & emerging risks.
  • Enacting and enhancing our underwriting controls.
  • Liaising with our trading teams to deliver great customer and commercial outcomes.
  • Working closely with our claims & operation teams to manage indemnity control.
  • Working closely with the pricing & underwriting team to deliver great pricing & underwriting outcomes.
  • Dealing with underwriting referrals.

What you’ll need

  • Experience of managing portfolios in a personal lines insurance product.
  • Experience of working in Pet or Medical products preferable.
  • Proven track record of technical underwriting expertise.
  • Understanding of relevant insurance regulations & legislation.
  • An ability to manage multiple partner schemes/products across various sales channels.
  • Great interpersonal skills & stakeholder management, dealing with stakeholders of all levels, internally and externally.
  • Understanding of indemnity control.
  • Ability to innovate & work in a fast-paced environment, working with a breadth of initiatives.
  • Experience working to budgets & developing business cases for capability enhancement.
