By joining them, you’ll have the opportunity to not just be recognised for your skills but encouraged to build upon them and empowered to do your absolute best.

Pricing and Underwriting is a complicated world, where historical data, geospatial information, and mathematical models meet talented analysts. Pricing our products is a fine line between balancing our business goals and customer needs. That’s why our Pricers and Underwriters are the best of the best. They reduce risk and predict future events ensuring our business can continue to grow whilst each and every one of our consumers gets the best price.

What you’ll be doing:

Our mission is to be a best-in-class function. And, to be the best of the best we need exceptional people. This is where your expertise comes into play. Joining our Home P&U Team, who are responsible for setting the prices for home policies, you’ll utilise your previous experience in Underwriting a UK personal lines portfolio to make sure we are best-in-class.

As a Band 3 Underwriter, you’ll support the Home Underwriting team in delivering accurate, competitive, and well-governed underwriting outcomes. This is a great opportunity to build your analytical skills, develop your understanding of insurance products, and contribute to key business decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support analysis of claims and pricing data to help ensure our home insurance pricing reflects true risk and cost.

  • Assist in monitoring trading performance and competitiveness across customer segments to identify trends and opportunities.

  • Help review and maintain product details, including question sets, cover limits, and product tiers, ensuring accuracy and consistency.

  • Track market and claims trends and support the team in identifying potential risks or opportunities for action.

  • Maintain underwriting documentation and support the upkeep of our underwriting footprint.

  • Assist in testing underwriting changes, ensuring updates are implemented correctly and efficiently.

  • Collaborate with colleagues across teams, including Claims, Trading, and Pricing, to support shared goals and improve customer outcomes.

  • Participate in team discussions and knowledge sharing, contributing ideas and learning from others.

  • Follow governance and control processes, ensuring compliance with internal and regulatory standards.

  • Engage in learning and development, building your knowledge of underwriting principles, insurance products, and data analysis tools.

Our hybrid model offers a \'best of both worlds\' approach. When you\'ll be in the office depends on your role and team, but colleagues spend at least 2 days a week in the office.

What you’ll need

We’re looking for someone eager to learn and grow within the world of insurance underwriting. You don’t need previous underwriting experience, just the right mindset and core skills to thrive in a data-driven, collaborative environment.

  • Strong numeracy and analytical skills — comfortable working with data, spotting trends, and drawing insights.

  • Curiosity and a willingness to learn — especially around insurance products, pricing, and risk.

  • A proactive approach — able to work in a fast-paced environment and contribute ideas to improve outcomes.

  • Great communication and teamwork — confident engaging with colleagues across different teams and levels.

  • A commercial mindset — interested in how data and decisions impact customers and business performance.

  • Attention to detail and good organisational skills — able to manage tasks, documentation, and governance requirements.

  • Basic understanding of Excel or other analytical tools — or a willingness to learn quickly.
