Field Loss Adjuster – Leeds or Manchester

What you’ll be doing
We are currently in the market for a Loss Adjuster – a home-based position, visiting our customers in the Leeds or Manchester area. Postcodes covered include: LS, WF, DN, S, HD, HG, M, WA, CW, SK and CH. To be considered, you must have a full UK driving licence and reside within this region, as completing customer visits will be an integral part of your role.
Reporting directly to the Field Manager you\’ll:
- Conduct field visits to support customers, including those in vulnerable situations and ad-hoc cases
- Review digital evidence submitted via our online claims portal
- Represent DLG during surge events using our Surge Support Vehicle, supporting PR opportunities identified by the Press Office
- Take ownership of Home, SME & Commercial claims, including complex or high-value cases under supervision when above authority
- Deliver outstanding customer service, helping to achieve market-leading Net Promoter Scores
- Support Disaster Restoration and Recovery teams by validating field claims and ensuring cost-effective indemnity solutions
- Recommend optimal settlement routes, using supply chain options where appropriate
- Support complaint resolution by facilitating field visits and handling informal complaints directly
- Determine and advise on rectification works, acting as a technical point of contact for scope variations
- Carry out investigations to assist with potential subrogated recoveries
- Collaborate with Operational teams and offer guidance to office-based claims handlers
- Provide technical support to Area Managers and help maintain relationships with the Home Repair Network
- Adhere to compliance and regulatory standards, including Consumer Duty, GDPR, policy cover, indemnity, and reserving
- Track and deliver on key business metrics and risk responsibilities within the DLG risk framework
- Continuously develop your own technical expertise and knowledge of insurance practices
What you’ll need
- Proven experience in field-based loss adjusting across Home, SME, and Commercial property claims
- Strong understanding of insurance principles, policy interpretation, and coverage assessment
- Excellent knowledge of buildings and contents quantum and current construction methods
- Confident in creating repair propositions and negotiating settlements
- Located in and/or around the Leeds or Manchester area, as this is where your customers will be based and your on-site visits will take place
- Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel as required
