The role We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Consumer Contracts Lawyer to join our Civil Litigation team at DLG Legal Services, on a full time, permanent basis. This position can be based from either our Bristol or Leeds offices (Hybrid working). Reporting to Contracts Team Leader, you will be taking initial instructions and providing clear and accurate legal advice on a varied caseload, including consumer contracts, professional negligence, and inheritance matters. This will involve progressing claims pro‑actively and in a timely manner in line with the terms of the client’s legal expenses insurance policy.
What you will be doing You will provide accurate and clear legal advice, managing clients’ expectations, explaining decisions and the steps in the claims process clearly and succinctly; always ensuring the fair treatment of clients. Take all reasonable steps to settle claims and recover costs. Record time spent accurately and maintain accurate system records. Identify learning & development needs and opportunities for self and wider team progression. Support the strategic development of department best practice, product performance, and the customer experience through continuous improvement initiatives. You will be supported in generating new ideas with all ideas welcomed and encouraged.
What we’re looking for
- Solicitor or Legal Executive, or have experience at an equivalent level
- Good understanding of contract litigation with experience of managing small claim and fast track litigation.
- Professional negligence or inheritance claims experience is desirable
- Experience of collaborating within a high performing team
Location Bristol (BS1 6JX) or Leeds (LS1 4AZ) Home Working Hybrid model (2 days from the office, 3 days from home) Working hours 35 hour per week (Monday - Friday)
