Dirac is building the next Walmart-sized retail company ($790.09bn to be precise) and we are looking for a finance and operations hire to work alongside myself to take us to series A and beyond.

A great candidate looks like:

  • Analytical (maths/physics/PPE/econ background).
  • Can code or is willing to learn.
  • Experience in financial modelling, ideally in retail and/or startups.
  • Willing to get their hands dirty (e.g., understanding SKU sell-through dynamics, stock takes, etc.)

Example tasks include:

  • Building our cash flow model and forecasts.
  • Optimising purchase and shipping decisions.
  • Financial wargaming (e.g., effects of different tariff rates).
  • Building monthly management accounts.
  • Being a financial team of (nearly-)one: reconciliation (with the operations team helping), stock takes, asset count, inventory financing.
  • Planning (e.g., for setting up d2c warehouses in America).

Bonus points if:

  • Can give me an excellent history book recommendation.
  • ACCA/ACA/equivalent.

I’m interested, what are the next steps? Email ethan [at] dirac [dot] software if interested! Include something interesting about yourself (such as favourite book, a mathematics puzzle, an interesting deal or startup you worked on etc.)
