The Senior Sales Assistant within a department store will actively support the Counter Manager with the sales KPI performance of the counter as a junior member of the store management team. In the absence of the Counter Manager, the Senior Sales Assistant will assume full accountability for all areas of the store. As a key Brand Ambassador, ensure Diptyque's positioning as a true luxury brand.

Responsibilities

  • To deliver agreed sales KPIs for the counter, focusing on sales, ATV, UPT, and conversion, while motivating the team to achieve these results.
  • Assist with the execution of all product launches as per Marketing Plan and VM guidelines, including in-store displays and layouts.
  • Assist with the management of all events, including launch previews, customer events, MDS, and Fragrance Fittings.
  • Provide excellent customer service and set exemplary standards for all staff, handling consumer queries and complaints professionally.
  • Demonstrate high levels of knowledge about products and fully represent the brand in the store.
  • Assist with the ongoing coaching and development of team members as required.
  • Maintain knowledge of key competitors and industry trends.
  • Communicate effectively about commercial understanding of the host store and counter performance, making fact-based recommendations to improve the business.
  • Attend Host Store business meetings and relay information to manager and HQ as required.
  • Ensure back of house areas are maintained to a high standard that supports the needs of the sales floor.
  • Work with the Manager to ensure all paperwork and reporting is completed accurately and on time.
  • Ensure host store Cash Handling guidelines are followed at all times.
  • Maintain full knowledge of till procedures and processes within the host store.
  • Be aware of all security and health and safety issues and ensure all staff are informed.
  • Work with the Inventory Manager and host store buying teams to monitor stock levels and conduct regular stock takes.
  • Assist with the management of emergency situations involving the host store and team members in the absence of the Counter Manager.
  • Perform general administrative duties.
  • Abide by Company and Host Store rules and policy.

Qualifications

  • A passion and previous experience in Fragrance/Beauty/Luxury Retail.
  • Sales focused with a proven sales record.
  • Strong understanding of retail KPIs.
  • Strong people and performance management skills.
  • Expertly honed customer service skills and enjoy interacting confidently with the public.
  • Self-motivated, focused, and able to use own initiative.
  • High degree of verbal and written communication skills.
  • Expertly groomed at all times, reflecting the company and location.
  • Available Full Time with flexible working hours, including Saturdays and some Sundays.
  • Assertive, dynamic, and possess a positive attitude.
