MAIN PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF THE JOB: Ensure the effective completion of deliveries and other related stock tasks, whilst achieving productivity levels and maintaining Diptyque standards across the London diptyque retail and wholesale network.
DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintaining both delivery and stockroom standards to the highest level at all times.
- Ensure that all deliveries are processed, and productivity targets are adhered to consistently.
- Ensure that key tasks are completed in a timely manner, e.g. stock takes, price changes, recalls.
- Ensuring the effective movement of stock within the store.
- Working with the store management team, responsible for stock related operations in the store.
- Work with boutique managers to ensure the highest degree of stock accuracy is maintained within the retail system, by means of stock adjustments where necessary and regular cycle count procedures.
- To ensure that good communication with your colleagues is maintained.
- To foster a team working attitude and be open to constructive feedback.
- To ensure that time keeping, attendance and lateness is in line with company’s policies and procedures.
- To be aware of Health & Safety requirements in the store and communicate all potential issues risks to their manager and Head of Commercial Operations.
- Receive and check off all deliveries when they arrive in an efficient and timely manner, ensuring the deliveries tally with the paperwork and passing all paperwork with any shortages, overages or damaged items clearly highlighted, to the appropriate department.
- Liaise with the HO Inventory team and store managers – including but not limited to scheduling, OOS management, staffing cover.
- As the business requires, pick up and have ready for collection all stock to be returned to suppliers or collected by suppliers, ensuring all paperwork is actioned accordingly.
- Complete any paperwork as instructed, in an accurate, efficient and timely manner, ensuring all records are kept up-to-date and in good order.
- Unpack all deliveries putting stock into the correct locations ensuring all stock is safely stored and easily accessible in line with H&S guidelines. Maintain an accurate knowledge of stock and locations.
- Ensure stock is rotated on a regular basis, ensuring all stocks remain clean and saleable.
- Ensure the carrier bags and other shop floor consumables are kept stocked up working with the store management team on replenishment order. Keep the area tidy and readily accessible by all.
- Ensure all aisles and through routes are kept clear and free of stock at all times - particular attention must be paid to all fire escape routes.
- Report any build-up of rubbish or blockages (in any part of the building) to a member of management immediately.
- Ensure that the Stock Rooms are ready for the following day’s business activity.
- Follow all security procedures to ensure a high level of security is maintained at all times; all Stock Room doors are kept closed and no unauthorised persons allowed into the Stock Rooms unaccompanied.
- Assist with Stocktakes; both the prepping and the counting.
- Actively be involved in improving storage and stock control systems and suggesting improvements in the overall layout and organisation of the Stock Rooms as they become apparent.
- Provide cover and/or assistance for other stock team members during breaks, annual leave, other absences or special circumstances as required, ensuring sufficient handover (for planned cover).
- Carrying out any reasonable task as directed by the Manager or Deputy.
- Ensure any external storage is in an organised and presentable condition. All areas should be cleaned on a regular basis and all bins emptied as required.
The successful candidate will:
- Have similar experience working in a fast-moving stockroom or warehouse environment.
- Have retail or service industry experience (minimum 5+ years).
- Have attention to detail and understanding of luxury standards.
- Have the ability to use own initiative.
- Be certified or have manual handling awareness.
- Be a good team player.
- Have good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Have good knowledge of Excel and agility with new systems.
