Please note: the Diocese of York is not the employer
We are looking for a group of exceptional people to help with the future development of Inclusion at Manor Church of England Academy, York.
Manor has a proud history, having served the young people of York for over 210 years. We are a Church of England academy and our Christian values guide, influence and underpin all that we do. We are part of Heartwood Learning Trust, a growing family of schools working together to transform education within York, Hull and North Yorkshire.
Inclusion has recently been graded as a “strong standard” within the school by Ofsted in May 2026. Senior leaders are now looking to re-structure the support offered to vulnerable learners, in order to further improve every young person’s ability and experience to access the curriculum, improve attendance in school and enhance the future aspirations and POST 16 destinations.
This is a truly exciting opportunity for the right candidate to lead and develop our Inclusion base for SEND and vulnerable learners.
You will play a pivotal role in liaising with middle and senior leaders to collate and deliver the curriculum from existing schemes of learning so that no child is left behind. We seek to find someone who has the flexibility to deliver core subjects across different phases of education to small groups of children via a targeted timetabled approach, whilst being able to direct the work of other adults to offer support to children during periods of uncertainty.
In addition to your academic teaching commitment, you will be responsible for working alongside the SEND team so that children receive the right support at the right time.
We are looking for a teacher who will empower, advocate and inspire cohorts of children who face barriers when accessing their learning, and crucially someone who can lead the provision with high levels of ambition whereby there is no cap on what our children can and will achieve.
Celebration of achievements will be essential to supporting our children whilst instilling resilience and empowerment to move through their educational journey with high levels of success, alongside ensuring that every child is included in activities across the wider school community.
What we can offer:
- Experienced and supportive School Leadership Team
- Opportunities for staff to develop through Continuous Professional Development
- Local Government Pension scheme
- Occupational Health
- Employee Assistance Programme
- Cycle to work scheme
- Free on site Parking
Position Type: Permanent Post

The salary is dependent on current qualifications and experience, please see the attached job description for more information.
We are committed to safeguarding and protecting our children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All posts are subject to a safer recruitment process which includes enhanced criminal records and barring checks, scrutiny of employment history, robust referencing and other vetting checks.
Our safeguarding system is underpinned by a range of policies and procedures which encourage and promote safe working practice across the Trust. On joining you will be required to undergo continuous professional development to maintain safe working practice and to safeguard our children and young people.
