We are offering seven Apprentice‑style positions as part of our Children & Youth Ministry Apprenticeship Programme. This is a three‑year, paid opportunity to work, learn and grow in ministry.
Role Details
- Employed by the Diocese of Southwark
- Supported by and based in a local parish, working with children, young people and families
- Paid the London living wage for 28 hours per week
Programme Structure
- 21 hours of practical ministry experience each week in a parish setting
- 7 hours of dedicated study time, mainly online, working towards a Certificate of Higher Education in Theology, Mission and Ministry through Ridley Hall, Cambridge
- Ongoing support from your local parish, the Diocese, and academic tutors at Ridley Hall
Requirements
- Job holder must be a Christian under Part 1 Schedule 9 to the Equality Act 2010
- Applicants must have the legal right to live and work in the UK for the full duration of the 3‑year course (1 September 2026 – 31 August 2029). We are not able to provide certificates for sponsorship for these roles.
Expectations
Apprentices will be placed in a church different from their home parish to gain new experiences and for the apprenticeship programme to be shared across the Diocese.
