Overview

Part of Diocese of Norwich Education and Academies Trust. Salary – Scale D5-6, £14,805 – £15,040 actual pa (£25,583 – £25,989 FTE). Fixed Term – initial period to 31 August 2026. Part time – 25 hours per week, term time plus one week. Required ASAP.

Responsibilities

Provide supervisory oversight and line management of the Nursery Assistant. Support children attending the Nursery setting and collaborate with the manager and deputy manager to deliver a suitable programme of activities, caring for children’s personal needs. May act as a key worker for a small number of children and compile their development records, involving parents/carers in progress. Support children during the setting’s opening hours (Tuesday–Friday, 8:00 am–9:00 am on Monday, 8:00 am–2:30 pm Tuesday–Friday).

The Nursery setting is open Tuesday to Friday and also provides before and after school care for school‑aged children Monday to Friday.

Additional duties and responsibilities may vary over time and will be expected as part of the role.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Suitable early years or childcare qualification (NVQ level 2 or equivalent).
  • Experience working in an early years setting, either a Nursery or within an early years classroom.
  • A love of the outdoors.
  • Aware of the Foundation Stage curriculum and experienced with the online journal, Tapestry.
  • Calm, flexible, and able to work as part of a team.
  • Willing to undertake necessary training, attend meetings, and contribute to the school\’s positive ethos.
