We are the Diocese of Manchester, serving a vibrant, dynamic and creative community in the North-West of England. Our vision is to be a worshipping, growing, transforming Christian presence at the heart of every community. Our work is about building a culture of hope and an expectation of growth in our parishes, schools and chaplaincies. We’re looking for talented and innovative people to bring fresh ideas, diversity and inspiration to help us achieve this.

Work on projects that make a difference. We’re looking for someone with experience of meeting tight deadlines and supporting colleagues in our Programme Office to do the same. The role provides a unique opportunity to support the establishment of new resource churches and strengthen partnerships with those already in place.

Why this role is different:

  • Every church is different, in terms of location, style and tradition.
  • You’ll be involved in all stages of project development from the first sparks of inspiration to successful project delivery.
  • You’ll have opportunity to share your knowledge and ideas to improve our processes and deliver our strategy.
  • You’ll work with people, not just systems, building relationships and making a tangible impact.

What you’ll be doing:

  • You’ll be the key contact for all the projects, providing them with support and information in a wide range of areas from communication functions to financial claims.
  • You’ll provide support to the Programme Office in terms of collecting and analysing data and you will also manage your own ‘task and finish’ projects.
  • We’re keen to invest in our team and this role will provide various opportunities for learning and career development.

What we’re looking for:

  • An efficient administrator with excellent organisational skills and talent for improving processes.
  • A great communicator who can engage effectively yet empathetically with our churches and communities.
  • Experience of managing or overseeing funded projects would be a bonus but not essential.

What you’ll get:

  • Initial salary of £28,140 with opportunity to move to the top of the band.
  • Strong commitment to professional development.
  • A supportive team and clear opportunities for progression.

This is more than an administrative role, it’s a chance to work with diverse and interesting projects, develop your career, and be part of an organisation that values long-term stewardship, sustainability and community impact.

For an informal conversation about the role, please contact: Graham Rustom, Director of Strategic Delivery at grahamrustom@manchester.anglican.org

Interviews: Wednesday, 23 September 2026 at St John’s House, 155-163 The Rock, Bury BL9 0ND.
