Operations Manager, St Philip's Church Cambridge
St Philip's Church Cambridge are seeking an Operations Manager.
- St Philip’s Church, 185 Mill Road, Cambridge, CB1 3AN
- £35,000 - £37,000 p.a. depending on experience, with the opportunity to join our employer pension scheme
- 30-35 hours per week, generally Monday‑Friday with occasional evenings and weekends.
- You will report to the Vicar and the PCC (trustees), and work closely with Clergy, Treasurer and Finance Overseer, venue hirers, community organisations, the congregation, contractors and volunteers.
The role
As Operations Manager, you will be responsible for managing and developing our facility hires in alignment with our community vision. You will manage the maintenance of the building’s fabric, provide vital administrative support to the clergy, and implement our health and safety policies and ensure compliance. With a clear focus on vision‑driven hire management and community building, you will lead on fostering deep, relational connections with new and current hirers as valued fellow members of our extended church community.

You will be a committed Christian and a proven leader who takes the initiative to work independently and effectively across broad areas of responsibility. Prayerful and attentive to what God is doing within our community, you will be excited to hold and deepen the links between our worshipping community and the wider community that calls this church home in many different ways. You will be warm, welcoming and collaborative, a trusted and confidential presence who builds authentic relationships with diverse community groups and stakeholders. You will have experience of facilities and financial management. Highly organised, you will have excellent time‑management and prioritisation which enables you to thrive on the variety and challenge of a fast‑paced church operations context.
