About This Role

Preparing for and carrying out the invigilation of examinations in accordance with awarding body regulations. Carrying out other exam-related tasks as directed by the Examinations Officer.

Accountabilities

The appointee will be line managed by the Senior Leader with responsibility for Exams.

Principal Responsibilities

  • To prepare, oversee and clear up after the internal examinations and or GCSE examinations under the direction of the Examinations Officer.
  • Check desks for graffiti and take appropriate action.
  • Check materials present against check list for examination.
  • Complete all attendance registers and take appropriate action for non-attendance.
  • Supervise entry and exit from the examination room.
  • Ensure that JCQ, Exam board and school rules for conduct of examinations are adhered to.
  • Report any breaches or suspected breaches in security to the Exams Officer immediately.
  • Distribute and collect materials as directed by the Exams Officer.
  • Start and stop the examination at the appropriate time and having due regard for any student entitled to extra time.
  • Organise completed scripts/papers in register order ready for dispatch.
  • Hand ordered scripts to the Examinations Officer.
  • Comply with the schools safety procedures regarding signing in and out at Reception.
  • Follow all reasonable instructions given by the Examinations Officer or Headteacher.
  • Work as part of a team to ensure the smooth running and secure running of all external internal examinations.
