St Barnabas in Knowle West is looking for volunteers to assist with the operation of their inclusive and friendly Warm Welcome Space. By serving refreshments, lending a friendly ear, and helping to run fun, social activities you will help those who attend feel welcome and connect with others. No prior experience is required, but a friendly attitude and passion for community action are essential.
Weekly hours: Thursday 9:30 am – 1:30 pm

Regular Responsibilities:
- Preparing and serving food and drinks to attendees
- Providing a warm welcome and engaging in friendly conversations
- Assisting with setting up activities including crafts and puzzles
- Opportunity to bring a craft to teach if desired – this can be discussed during the volunteer interview
- Creating a welcoming space through an empathic and approachable attitude
- Attending safeguarding and food hygiene training when required
- Supporting and engaging with those who attend

At 11 am a prayer service is conducted for 20 minutes. Everyone is welcome to join but there is no expectation on behalf of attendees or volunteers. Being sympathetic towards the Christian values of these activities would be helpful, but volunteers are not required to be Christian.
