About the Role
We’re looking for a reliable and hard-working Warehouse Operative to join a busy removals and storage operation in London. This is a hands-on, varied role where you’ll support both warehouse operations and removal crews. You’ll be responsible for handling, storing, and preparing customers’ belongings with care, while helping keep day-to-day operations running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
- Receiving and checking goods coming into the warehouse
- Loading and unloading removal vehicles safely
- Wrapping, packing, and protecting furniture and fragile items
- Allocating and storing items (including containerised storage)
- Labelling and tracking items accurately
- Preparing jobs for upcoming removals
- Assisting on removal jobs when required
- Keeping the warehouse clean, organised, and safe
- Carrying out basic stock checks and inventory control
- Using warehouse equipment (pallet trucks / forklifts if licensed)
- Following all health & safety procedures
Skills & Experience
Essential:
- Forklift Licence (Counterbalance or Reach)
- Experience in warehouse, removals, or other hands-on/manual roles
- Physically fit and comfortable lifting heavy items (20kg+)
- Good attention to detail (labelling, organisation, accuracy)
- Reliable, punctual, and a strong team player
- Positive attitude and willingness to work
Desirable:
- Removals or furniture handling experience
- UK driving licence (Category B or above)
- Experience with storage or inventory systems
