Job Description

As a Dim Sum Chef at Din Tai Fung UK, you will play a crucial role in supporting our front kitchen team and ensuring smooth service. Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Prepare and cook a variety of dim sum and steamed dishes to the highest standards, ensuring consistency and quality in every dish.
  • Maintain a clean and organised kitchen station, ensuring all food is prepared quickly and to perfection.
  • Follow recipes and cooking techniques to create authentic, high-quality dishes that reflect our Taiwanese culinary traditions.
  • Assist with food preparation, ensuring fresh ingredients are available and ready for service.
  • Work closely with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth service, especially during peak hours.

Who You Are

We are looking for a Dim Sum Chef who is enthusiastic, hardworking, and thrives in a dynamic and busy environment. Ideally, you will have:

  • Previous experience in a Commis Chef, Chef De Partie, or similar role, ideally within Asian cuisine—however, we are happy to train enthusiastic individuals willing to learn.
  • A passion for food and an eagerness to grow your culinary skills in the world of authentic Taiwanese / Chinese cuisine.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining the highest standards of food quality and hygiene.
  • Flexible availability to work full time, including weekends, evenings, and holidays, with shifts that may run as late as 10:30 PM.

What We Offer

  • Competitive Pay: Hourly rates start at £15 (including troncs), rising to £16~£17 once qualified.
  • Working Week: 5 days per week on a rota basis throughout Monday to Sunday; night shifts may run as late as 10:30 PM.
  • Contracted Hours: 40~48 hours per week.
  • Location: Hiring for Central London (Covent Garden, Centre Point, Selfridges and Canary Wharf).
