Key Responsibilities:
- Business activities: Taking responsibility for the business performance of Din Tai Fung, analysing and planning restaurant sales levels and profitability, organising marketing activities, preparing reports, creating and executing plans for department sales, profit and staff development, setting budgets, and planning menus.
- Profits: Responsible for making forecasts, budgets, and keeping on top of expenses, ensuring budgets are met and performance and profitability are optimised.
- Product: Maintaining standards of service, ensuring systems are in place for running various shifts, developing new ideas and standards of service, maintaining cleanliness and upkeep of the building, controlling adequate stocks, and ensuring high product knowledge in the team.
- Processes: Ensuring health and safety requirements are met, conducting risk assessments, running payroll on time, and maintaining records of stock control.
- Front-of-house: Coordinating the entire operation during scheduled shifts, managing staff, responding to customer complaints, meeting and greeting customers, advising on menu choices, recruiting and training staff, and supervising shifts.
- Communication: Communicating effectively with teams regarding company plans, creating an environment of positive thinking, conducting support and supervision sessions, maintaining records of staff training, and ensuring Standard Operating Procedures are updated.
- Housekeeping: Maintaining high standards of quality control, hygiene, checking stock levels, preparing cash drawers, and assisting in any area of the restaurant as needed.
Skills & Experience:
- Experience in a similar position with demonstrated success.
- Educated to degree or equivalent in hospitality.
- Proven ability in developing and managing a restaurant and bar.
- Excellent knowledge of running a restaurant.
- Ability to work on budgets and produce reports.
- Experience in organising events and functions.
- Knowledge of current marketing techniques.
- Good knowledge of IT systems and booking databases.
- Experience in reviewing and improving internal processes.
