As a Dim Sum Chef at Din Tai Fung UK, you will play a crucial role in supporting our front kitchen team and ensuring smooth service. Your main responsibilities will include:
- Prepare and cook a variety of dim sum and steamed dishes to the highest standards, ensuring consistency and quality in every dish.
- Maintain a clean and organised kitchen station, ensuring all food is prepared quickly and to perfection.
- Follow recipes and cooking techniques to create authentic, high-quality dishes that reflect our Taiwanese culinary traditions.
- Assist with food preparation, ensuring fresh ingredients are available and ready for service.
- Work closely with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth service, especially during peak hours.
We are looking for a Dim Sum Chef who is enthusiastic, hardworking, and thrives in a dynamic and busy environment. Ideally, you will have:
- Previous experience in a Commis Chef, Chef De Partie, or similar role, ideally within Asian cuisine—however, we are happy to train enthusiastic individuals willing to learn.
- A passion for food and an eagerness to grow your culinary skills in the world of authentic Taiwanese / Chinese cuisine.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining the highest standards of food quality and hygiene.
- Flexible availability to work full time, including weekends, evenings, and holidays, with shifts that may run as late as 10:30 PM.
