Make a Meaningful Difference Every Day
If you’re looking for a role where no two days are the same, and where your presence truly matters, this could be the perfect fit. We’re seeking a Female Support Worker to join our team in the Melcombe Regis area of Weymouth, supporting a woman in her 30s who has learning disabilities and lives in her own home. You’ll work alongside another Female Support Worker to support her to live a full, independent, and joyful life. She uses a wheelchair to mobilise and enjoys an active routine filled with the things she loves, including:
- Swimming and Aquafit at 1610 in Dorchester
- Dance classes
- Trips out for coffee and people-watching
- Listening to music
- Regular visits with family
A Person-Centred Approach
This lady does not use words to communicate, but she expresses herself clearly through vocalisations, body language, and eye contact. If you haven’t supported someone who communicates in this way before, that’s absolutely fine — full, high-quality training is provided.
What Your Role Involves
You’ll support her with the things that matter most in daily life, including:
- Personal care
- Cooking and meal preparation
- Shopping
- Managing finances
- Supporting her to access the community and enjoy her favourite activities
She welcomes both full-time and part-time Support Workers. Shift patterns include 08:00–15:00, 15:00–21:00, and Waking Nights, offering flexibility to suit your lifestyle. Gender is considered a genuine occupational requirement under paragraph 1 of Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010. In this context, “gender” refers to the sex legally assigned to an individual.
