Support Workers Part Time – 14hrs a week or 28hrs a week - days including sleep in

We are recruiting for amazing Support Workers in Wakefield. We’re looking for someone who has experience working with people who present complex behaviours. We support a fantastic gentleman with a diagnosis of Autism and learning disabilities. He loves his comedies and slapstick movies and has a collection of soft toys he uses to express his mood and feelings. You will get to meet the 'whole furry friend family' as you get to know him. He enjoys being out and people watching in local cafés and visiting market towns. With the right positive behaviour support (which he really benefits from), you’ll help him enjoy the things he loves most and keep those good vibes flowing!

Shift Pattern: Long Day Sleep-In Shifts: 8am – 10pm + Sleep from 10pm - 8am. There will be a requirement to work as part of a rota, this would include Lone working and sleep-in duties.

The role will involve:

  • Helping people learn the skills they need to live the life they choose.
  • Personal care.
  • Support with shopping, housework including cleaning and laundry.
  • Supporting with medication.
  • Supporting and encouraging people to find opportunities in education, employment and leisure, and enable them to take part in these opportunities.
