About the role

We’re looking for a reliable, calm and proactive Waking Night Support Worker to join our team in Trowbridge (BA14), supporting three gentlemen aged 30s–60s with mild learning disabilities and epilepsy (well managed with medication). This is a weekend-only waking night role, where your support plays a vital part in ensuring people feel safe, comfortable and reassured throughout the night.

Who you will be supporting

The gentlemen you’ll support are sociable, active and enjoy:

  • Getting out into the community and socialising
  • Visiting friends and exploring new places
  • Relaxing with food, TV and shared downtime
  • Having fun, laughing and building strong relationships with staff

Your support overnight helps create a smooth, settled environment between their active days.

What you will be doing (Waking Nights)

As a waking night support worker, you’ll remain awake and alert throughout your shift, providing essential overnight support, including:

  • Carrying out regular safety and wellbeing checks
  • Supporting personal care needs when required
  • Administering medication in line with training
  • Providing reassurance and maintaining a calm environment
  • Responding to any needs or changes overnight
  • Completing accurate records and handovers for day staff

Shift patterns

This is a fixed weekend role, including:

  • Saturday: 10:00pm – 7:00am
  • Sunday: 10:00pm – 7:00am
