We\’re looking for someone kind, patient and reliable to support a young man in his 20s who lives in East Finchley. He has a learning disability and needs consistent and compassionate support to feel safe and settled. This is a complex support role, but you\’ll be joining a team that\’s well-trained, well-supported, and proud to work for one of the UK\’s Great Places to Work.
He communicates verbally, but on his own terms, and enjoys having people around even if he doesn\’t always engage directly. He loves being out in the car every day, visiting parks, museums, zoos, and other places he enjoys. At home, he prefers quiet interests and his own space.
You\’ll support him 1:1 at home and 2:1 in his community. Your role will include:
- Helping with personal care (some tasks he does independently).
- Supporting with meal preparation, food shopping, and cooking.
- Monitoring his environment to reduce risk.
- Supporting with daily routines.
He has a well-managed PBS plan, and we\’ll provide full Proact-SCIP training. Experience is helpful but not essential, what matters most is your attitude. If you\’re calm, observant, and have a good sense of humour, we\’d love to hear from you.
