Provide excellent Positive Behaviour Support and respond to referrals requiring behaviour support involvement. Provide direct behaviour support in setting up and delivering on behaviour support plans by working alongside teams and Behaviour Support Practitioners to develop outcomes, skills and knowledge within the support teams. Ensure support teams are focused on enhancing the quality of life of people supported, promoting personal skill development and reducing/eliminating the use of restrictive practices.

The successful candidate will be required to reside within one of the following areas: South Yorkshire, West Yorkshire, North Yorkshire, or Greater Manchester. Occasional travel may be required to attend team meetings, depending on business needs. While not frequent, a degree of flexibility is expected to support effective collaboration and engagement with the wider team.

We plan to hold interviews via Microsoft Teams in July, however, this may be subject to change depending on application volumes, and first-stage interviews may be conducted earlier if required. This vacancy may close earlier than advertised if application levels are high.

About the role

  • Lead in the provision of good practice support in the delivery of behaviour support plans.
  • Support the development of individual team members' skill sets in the interpretation of Behaviour Support Plans and the review process.
  • Contribute to the service set up of new support as prioritised within the region.
  • Complete the Functional Behaviour Assessments and implement Behaviour Support Plans in collaboration with support teams, families and others.

About you

The successful applicant will have:

  • Masters level qualification in Applied Practice in either: Learning Disability, Autism or Behavioural Approaches (Applied Behaviour Analysis or Positive Behaviour Support).
  • Significant experience in directly supporting people with Learning Disabilities and/or Autism who have complex needs using Applied Behaviour Analysis/Positive Behaviour Support.
  • Strong understanding of the values and ethos of positive behaviour support, person-centred approaches and thinking, and Active Support.
  • Experience of working collaboratively with external professionals with regards to best practice in PBS and the use of physical interventions.
