About the role

We're looking for a confident and caring Support Worker to join our team in Reading (RG2), where you'll support a

gentleman in his 40s with learning disabilities. This is a

lone-working role that's highly rewarding if you enjoy spending quality time one-to-one, creating meaningful moments and providing practical support.

What he enjoys:

  • Swimming and going for walks
  • Watching and talking about sports
  • Listening to music
  • Relaxed chats, family visits, and days out

Your role will include:

  • Personal care and daily living routines
  • Meal preparation and healthy eating support
  • Medication administration
  • Occasional wheelchair support for longer outings
  • Planning and enjoying activities that make him happy

Shift patterns

  • Long day: 8:00am - 11:00pm
  • Sleep-in: 11:00pm - 8:00am (£50 per sleep-in)

(Around 20 hours per week plus additional sleep-ins with alternate weekends - must be available for both Saturday and Sunday when on a weekend shift. Rotas are given in advance.)

About you

  • Comfortable working alone and confident taking initiative
  • Patient, reliable and positive with a good sense of humour
  • Happy to get out and about for local activities like swimming or sports
  • Organised and able to adapt plans when needed

Experience is not essential - full training provided.
