In this home, one day you could be supporting someone to catch a train, go swimming, visit the cinema, or enjoy a day out watching planes. The next, you might be helping someone plan healthy meals, manage their budget, attend a medical appointments or work towards a personal goal they have set for themselves. We are looking for people who can see potential in every moment and want to help others live the life they choose.

You will be joining a supported living home in Bury St Edmunds, supporting 14 people across several individual flats. Every person has their own goals, interests, and support needs, meaning no two days are ever the same.

You will work across the home, providing tailored 1:1 support and occasionally supporting alongside colleagues where required. Some people enjoy active days out, train rides, swimming, and shopping trips while others prefer quieter days focused on maintaining their home, planning meals, managing finances or spending time with family and friends.

As a Support Worker, you will support people to build independence, develop skills, and make choices about how they live their lives. You will encourage people to achieve their personal outcomes, maintain relationships, access healthcare appointments, and participate in hobbies that matter to them.

This home operates on a two-week rolling rota with a mixture of early, late, and long-day shifts between 8am and 10pm, alongside regular sleep-ins and alternate weekends.

About You

  • Positive, proactive and person-centred.
  • Comfortable supporting people with varying needs, including learning disabilities, autism, and complex health needs.
  • A team player who can build strong relationships.
  • Confident encouraging independence and promoting choice and control.
  • Flexible and adaptable, as people's needs and plans can change.
  • Comfortable supporting with personal care and moving and handling.
  • Willing to learn and undertake training.
