About the Role
Female Support Worker New Southgate, London (N11)
Full-Time - Day Shifts (7am - 9:30pm)
£12.85 per hour
You will be joining a supported living home in New Southgate, conveniently located within walking distance of New Southgate Station and close to Alexandra Palace. You will support four adults (three women and one man) with autism and learning disabilities to live the lives they choose, with choice, control and dignity at the heart of everything you do.
Three people have epilepsy, and you will be fully supported with comprehensive training, including epilepsy and buckle training, so you feel confident and skilled in your role. Every person has their own goals, interests and routines. Some enjoy attending the gym, one is studying at college, while another spends weekdays at a day centre. Weekends are about relaxation and enjoyment, whether that’s music, arts and crafts or shared time together.
Using Dimensions Activate support model, you will encourage independence and recognise every moment as an opportunity to build skills and confidence. You will provide person-centred support with daily living, including prompting personal hygiene routines, preparing meals, following SALT guidelines for a person with dysphagia, and ensuring everyone feels safe, valued and supported throughout their day.
This is a varied and rewarding role where you will work in partnership with colleagues, families and professionals, supporting people to develop skills, pursue their interests and achieve meaningful outcomes making a genuine difference every day.
About You
You will bring confidence in supporting people with autism, learning disabilities, and epilepsy. You understand the importance of person-centred support, helping people live life their way while respecting choice and independence. You will be skilled at following structured support plans and maintaining routines.
Strong communication is essential: you will adapt your approach to meet individual needs, whether that’s using clear language, active listening, or visual prompts. Reliability, resilience, and the ability to work calmly under pressure are key, especially when lone working. Above all, you will share our values Ambition, Courage, Integrity, Partnership and Respect.
