Overview
Support Worker – Full time, 37.5 Hours per week. Location: Metheringham, Lincoln. A full UK driving licence and access to your own car are essential.
Responsibilities
- Provide full support with personal care, help with meal preparation through verbal prompting, and encourage independence wherever possible.
- Support a woman in her late 20s who lives alone in Metheringham, who is autistic and has complex needs with behaviours of distress, including self-injury.
- Maintain a predictable routine and structure; assist with transitions and support across a two-week rolling rota, including wake night and sleep-in shifts and alternate weekends.
- Assist with community activities and meaningful engagement (e.g., walks, seaside trips, animal attractions, clubs) as appropriate to her interests.
- Use a wheelchair when needed, noting that it is used minimally.
- Be flexible to work across other Dimensions homes in Metheringham to meet contracted hours when required.
- Receive full support during the onboarding period, including four weeks of shadowing and time with a senior team member, plus comprehensive training (Positive Behaviour Support and Pro-Act SCIP).
Requirements
- Full UK manual driving licence and access to your own car; willingness to drive her automatic vehicle in the community.
- Experience in care is not required, but experience with autism and complex behaviours is valuable.
- Right approach, patience, resilience, empathy, and the ability to remain calm in challenging situations.
- Full training and ongoing support provided.
- A DBS check is required; the company pays for Enhanced DBS (cost incurred by Dimensions).
