You’ll support individuals with learning disabilities, autism and complex health needs in a welcoming six‑room respite service for short breaks ranging from weekends to several months. Your role involves working closely with families to provide tailored care and engaging activities such as zoo trips, swimming, cinema visits, holidays and community outings.
Responsibilities
- Deliver personal care, medication administration and health‑related support, including stoma care, PEG feeding and epilepsy protocols.
- Prepare meals, conduct shopping and maintain housekeeping duties.
- Facilitate and supervise activities and outings, ensuring the safety and enjoyment of residents.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and families to implement individual care plans.
Qualifications
- Approved Driving Licence (manual) – essential.
- Valid DBS disclosure (enhanced); the employer will sponsor the cost.
- Experience or willingness to learn in caring for adults with complex health needs.
- Good communication skills and ability to build positive relationships.
- Willingness to work varied shift patterns, including night and weekend shifts.
Working Hours
- Day Shift: 07:00 am – 02:30 pm.
- Day Sleep‑In: 02:30 pm – 07:00 am (paid £50).
- Night Shift: 10:00 pm – 07:00 am (paid £50).
