Overview
We\\\’re looking for an experienced Support Worker to join our specialist supported living home in Greenford, Ealing. Three gentlemen, aged between 25 and 50, each live in their own flat within one building. You\\\’ll work across all three homes and become a key worker for one individual, while still supporting each person as part of their dedicated team. All three men have autism, learning disabilities, mental health needs, and varying levels of communication. The home supports people who can display complex behaviours of distress. Because of this, the role requires someone confident, patient, and able to stay calm and solution-focused when needs change quickly. During the day, support is delivered on a 2:1 basis, meaning you always work as part of a team. You\\\’ll be promoting independence in daily living, encouraging personal care through gentle prompting, supporting meal preparation, administering medication, and following structured planners to ensure safe and consistent support. These gentlemen lead active, varied lives, enjoying hobbies such as swimming, theatre trips, coffee outings, motorway drives, visits to farms, seaside days out and summer trips to London Zoo. Shift patterns include: 07:15 to 14:45, 14:30 to 22:00, 07:00 to 22:00, Wake nights run from 22:00 to 07:30, and staff work alternate weekends.
Responsibilities
You are an experienced Support Worker who shares our values of Ambition, Courage, Integrity, Partnership and Respect. You\\\’re confident supporting people with autism, learning disabilities and behaviours of distress, and you understand the importance of empathy, consistency, and clear communication. You will have experience offering emotional support, promoting independence, and documenting information accurately. You\\\’re comfortable building relationships with families and professionals and you\\\’re able to adapt to changing needs while remaining calm and encouraging. You also bring basic IT literacy for e-learning and record keeping, along with the patience and problem-solving mindset needed to support people in a busy and rewarding environment. The wider team will offer coaching, guidance and continuous development to help you build your specialist skills.
