We are looking for a dedicated, creative and compassionate Female Support Worker to join our energetic team in RG2. You will be supporting four wonderful ladies in their 30s-50s who have learning disabilities and epilepsy. All four communicate without words, using expressions, gestures and sounds to share their choices and personality – so you will play a huge role in helping them express themselves, feel heard and live confidently. This is a busy, active and warm home where every day is filled with routine, laughter and meaningful moments.

Family involvement: Families are very involved and play an important role in decision‑making and social connection. You will build respectful, positive relationships with them.

Support Needs & Activities:

  • Local sports and swimming sessions
  • Celebrating festivals and visiting family
  • Music, sensory activities and relaxing downtime
  • Day trips, local outings and holidays – including the possibility of supporting holidays abroad

The ladies are full of character – funny, expressive, warm and engaging. You will help them enjoy the activities they love and live life to its fullest.

Responsibilities:

  • Supporting daily routines and personal care
  • Helping people attend health appointments
  • Preparing meals and supporting healthy eating
  • Administering medication
  • Using hoists safely (training provided)
  • Encouraging communication through signs, gestures and expressions
  • Driving the mobility vehicle for activities and appointments
  • Going to local leisure centres, swimming and community events
  • Supporting with budgeting, shopping and household tasks
  • Encouraging independence, confidence and choice
  • Ensuring fun, wellbeing and meaningful engagement every day

Shift Patterns:

  • Full-time, 37.5-hour role with a rotation of: 7:00 am – 2:00 pm, 2:00 pm – 9:00 pm
  • Alternate weekend working
  • Optional sleep‑ins: 10:00 pm – 7:00 am (£50 paid to sleep)
  • Rotas are issued in advance to support your work‑life balance.
