About the role
If you are looking for a role where no two days are the same, this could be the perfect fit. You will be supporting one gentleman in his own bungalow, providing 1:1 support (with some 2:1 hours), so you can really get to know him and make a genuine difference in his day-to-day life. He is active, sociable, and full of personality. You might find yourself heading off to the swimming pool, going on long walks, or supporting him to attend his favourite clubs and social interests. At home, there's always music playing, he loves dancing, playing the keyboard, and celebrating Christmas all year round (so expect decorations and a great festive atmosphere whatever the season!). Your role will involve supporting him with all aspects of daily life, including personal care, medication, meals and maintaining a home. You will also help him stay connected to the people who are important to him, supporting regular visits with his family.
You will work a mix of early, late, and middle shifts between 7:30am and 10pm on a rolling rota, including weekends. There are no waking nights, but you will need to be able to commit to 1‑2 sleep‑ins each week. As this is a lone working role, confidence, initiative, and a positive attitude are key.
Essential qualifications
- Be a confident driver who can drive a manual vehicle (essential).
- Feel comfortable working independently and lone working.
- Be patient, proactive and emotionally resilient.
- Have excellent communication skills.
- Be flexible and reliable, able to work a range of shifts including weekends and sleep‑ins.
- Previous experience in care or support is helpful, but not essential. We are really looking for the right values, attitude, and willingness to learn.
Benefits
- Your efforts are recognised and rewarded with benefits and recognition programs that matter – supporting your wellbeing, financial security, and work‑life balance.
- A competitive payrate with uplift for overtime you chose to work.
- Flexible shift patterns to suit your needs.
- 30 days paid Annual Leave (including public holidays – pro rata).
- Opportunities for career progression.
- We offer a salary advance scheme where you can access up to 50% of the money you’ve earned before payday.
- High Street Discounts – Retail and Entertainment (supermarkets, hospitality, pubs, cinema etc.).
- Life Assurance and Company Pension.
- Industry leading training.
