As a Waking Night Support Worker, you'll provide attentive, person‑centred overnight support to six individuals—two men, four women aged from their 20s to 70s—who have a range of needs including learning disabilities, autism, epilepsy, visual impairments and mental health needs. You will ensure their safety, comfort and wellbeing through the night by carrying out regular checks, supporting with medication and personal care (from minimal support to occasional showering or continence care), assisting with mobility for a person who uses a wheelchair and a walking aid, and helping maintain a calm environment while getting to know their vibrant personalities and interests—from playing pool and caring for guinea pigs to enjoying trips to the gym, discos, local clubs and a shared love of Disney and Dreamworks favourites like Shrek.
